i've seen a fair bit of... pessimism about dorym lately, esp with the ep107, for example wondering if dorian's opposing views on the gods making orym fall out of love, and i have to say. i very highly doubt it, ur fr talking about the man who has held on to will for so long, holding onto will's family and affectionately calling this *his* family too because that didn't stop when will died. i dont think falling out of love is an option or even a thought to orym.

that said, we know that orym has contingencies for if anyone in bells hells crosses the line into being a version of themselves they would despise, for anyone who jeopardizes their mission. his mission. i think, for the first time since knowing dorian, orym finally has a contingency for him. the longer dorian is back, the more orym sees how scarred he is by what's happened (understandable so) and knows that dorian is with bells hells all the way. but if he isn't...

I wrote a paper in college for a children’s fantasy class on how PJO handles disability (specifically ADHD and dyslexia) better than almost any other book for kids that tries to be “about” disability. And rereading it now as more of an adult (I think I was 18 when I took that class) I was worried I’d spend the whole time cringing at my past self but like….I was correct and I’m glad I said it. “Your brain is wired differently and just because it’s a benefit in certain situations (fighting monsters or reading Ancient Greek) doesn’t mean it sucks any less the rest of the time. Especially in a world that doesn’t acknowledge the existence of monsters or write anything in Ancient Greek” is a based take on intellectual disabilities that genuinely meant a lot to me as a kid with (undiagnosed) ADHD.

thinking about a stoncy dynamic that’s not romantic or sexual or necessarily even platonic, but it used to be all or some of those things, and now it’s like they don’t know each other really at all anymore unless there’s danger, and then they immediately fall into perfect step with each other without even noticing

they don’t talk and they kinda avoid each other socially after they tried out every configuration of the three of them and none of them worked, but the minute a threat appears suddenly they’re flanking each other without having to discuss it. they fall into battle formation without even a glance. they always know where the other two are in a melee, they don’t have to check. it’s instinctive- stay equidistant, fan out, protect the party. one of them loses their weapon and one of the others throws them another, and they catch it and keep fighting. neither one looks, neither one breaks stride. they move around each other on reflex, like magnets.

just battle-hardened kids who are awkward as hell kids but also seasoned warriors who know each other down to their bones, but only in a fight.

Someone needs to do a study about how people respond to AI-generated voices in advertising inter- and intra-generationally.

Cause to me (a nebulous Zillennial), I trust AI-voiceover ads less than typical voiceover, and perceive the company/product creators as lazy/not caring about their product or audience. But I have a Gen X boss that thinks it’s showing that they’re cool and techy and efficient.

I need to know if I’m the only one off-put by the tiktok lady/siri trying to sell me baby food or a lawnmower or whatever.
